After Shax ([link]) and Elah ([link]), 3th concept of sci-fi energy handgun in row. This version is covered into dark color and has triangle barrel. Modeling and rendering is made in 3ds max + vray. While modeling I re-used more components of my earlier models and re-combined it in order to make it quick. It’s becoming repetitive to do 3 similar concepts in row. Maybe handle texture needs more “relax” as its too much stretched on model and also needs other improvements but no time or will for it. You’ll have to accept it as it is now. :) To see details I did (again) large picture with resolution 1.600x1.950. I will appreciate your opinions so tnx for comments if any.

Holy hell now THIS is some slick looking gun.
Only by Basic appeal and vision it is 5/5.
Originality is sort-off there but i believe i saw such finger ring and handle somewhere in old amiga games, but i might be wrong.
Technique is amaizingly done, down to lightwork and curves.
And it leaves impact of signature gun of some project - such gun can be mentioned on cover of AAA game, held by protagonist without fear of screwing up the cover.
I wish artist would use this design to build smg, battle rifle, and melee weapon in same style.
Good job and kudos.

I so wish this was a real gun. It looks like something Beretta would make in 2100 or something. It looks like it would be comfortable in the hand. Very nice work.

ITs bad ass, i think the length is fine, maybe a slight shorter i guess would look good too, although for me i would probably remove some of the lower bulk on the underside of the barrel, but still bad ass.
ITS LIKE AN AWESOME FUTURE PIRATE PISTOL. ^_^

How to make it better:
Send the model to a 3d printer and sell them as models.

Wonderful lines, love the triangular barrel...nice contrast to the overall fluidity of the piece. Very reminicient of 16/17c wheel and fire locks.

I really like this design. Have you thought of using a deep maroon for the grip colour and maybe black for the grip scales / upper texture? It would really give this gun a custom chick finish!

I like this one best of the three. It flows from pleasing the hand and eye at the handle to all business at the barrel. Also, the non-lever style trigger suits it better.

I like your modeling but the angle of the handle isn't functional. You'd never be able to hit anything. The form is beautiful but "form fallows function".

why? I would deny this handle shape so strictly.

The best way to answer your question is to ask: Have you have ever shot a hand gun? The angle that the gun sits at would make it kick back and go flying or break your rist. I don't mean to offend you. I Like the look but if you had to shoot it would it work or not

True, though in this case it's an energy weapon rather than a conventional handgun.

its ok. I never offended by critic and never get angry when somebody point mistake out. its not standard model thats why I used triangle barrel. its energy gun. And angle of handle - I imitated the shape of revolver.

That is a great attitude to have, and I feel the same way with my writing as you do about your art. I can see the similarities to a revolver. I'm not sure about an energy weapon and its kickback so the handle may work fine. It actually reminds me of an old flint-lock pistle. If it works for the usage of the weapon then it is a beautiful design, the angle just seemed wrong for a revolver. Ether way I do like your designs.
