Swordfish-main by peterku Swordfish-main by peterku
SWORDFISH - concept of sword.

This is my work - Swordfish. Idea was to create curvy sword. Not too heavy with individualism inside. Model is complete highpoly. I did it in 3ds max and as render engine I used V-ray. Hope that chosen materials are suitable. Blades are supposed removable. So concept, modeling and rendering is mine.

I did 3 pictures at all.

Here they are:

So what is your opinion? Do you like it or not?

P.S.
Where is this come from? I just played Diablo 3. My character - Witch doctor. If somebody like him will be in the future then for this person this one is.

Curved handle blades are usually best for smaller blades where you need more point control for stabbing rather than slashing. While this could be effective for a blade with a fuller, this blade doesn't seem to have much in the way of weight reduction. Though, the sizing isn't too horrible for such a weapon.

Like previously mentioned, a straight handle would be better for this weapon as it seems more oriented for slashing rather than stabbing, and the additional blade at the pommel reduced the number of maneuvers you can do as effective thrusting weapon.

While it makes it cooler, reducing the jut at the feeble and making the blade thinner overall, as well as reducing the length (or even just curving it more) of the pommel-blade would help salvage this as an effective weapon, as it would help make it more practical as a thrusting weapon. That, or make the handle straighter.

The complicated part is that it looks modern/futuristic, which would mean to have a spot on the battlefield it wouldn't likely be a primary weapon and would need a way of sheathing the blade while leaving it easily deployable; I'd envision some kind of snap-sheath that only covers the blade and releases as a push-button.

Practicality being set aside:
Shine could use a little work if this is meant to be a well-polished/unused blade. For it's current level of shine/color it looks more likely to be a lighly-used blade, but that's just me, and if you put in a few nicks (which I can't even imagine how difficult that might be with how high-quality the rest of this is) it'd look just amazing. If you increased the shine on the lower end (the upper-right shines rather nicely for a polished blade) I think that'd help a bit, unless the light sourcing you were going for was less ambient and more asymmetric. Other than that minor issue I have with it, everything looks amazing.

beautiful absolutely terrific! I just found your art to a google search and then I "went to the web page" and poof! i'm in DA. I can't believe I didn't find you earlier. I'll be looking thru all your work but I am particularly interested in dual ended weapons.

Really, really nice, I like the fact that they are double edged, double ended and pointed. Grips look good too, I would definitely have them!!!!!

I picture some badass alien like a Klingon going to town on some poor meat bag with his twin blades.
I would call these Rahzarr...or Slyshe because Rahzarr sounds more like the name of the alien species.
