ORTHRUS - game concept of sci-fi rifle.

It is another DEW concept. Idea is to use double barrel in body while energy packs are held by 2 sockets on the sides. When one of them is depleted, jammed or removed, system use another one. Batteries are exchangeable. Standard equipment includes display with information as well.
All work has been done in 3ds studio max. Model is complete high-poly. As rendering engine I used V-ray.

I did 3 pictures with resolution 1920x1080. For better view I recommend to open them in full size.

Hi - some amazing work you did there. I really like your "double barrel" idea for an energy blaster rifle (I hope i got that right that this is an energy blaster). The colours are nice chosen, the model is incredible - visually i can't tell anything bad against your creation. But there are some small things... well. When I first saw this I was like "aw hell yeah, I must have one of these!" - but then I realized some of the bad or missing features. According to the size of the grip the weapon is approximatly as long as a shotgun. I'm not a physicist or an engineer, but i think there will be some kind of recoil (your gun has some muzzle flash reducers at the front - so i think there is some recoil), won't it? In my opinion this weapon would need some sort of buttstock - i don't know, maybe a foldable? This way you could use the weapon for close combat with the folded stock but with a high recoil, and for longer distances you would unfold the stock. And I have another problem... Well, actually it isn't a real problem - but is the part under the barrels an accessory rail? If so, you could add a handle - this would reduce the recoil even more. I really like your idea for the upper rail - combining a hole for holding the riflt with an accessory rail for the optics; well done. The holder for the strap on the bottom of the gun is in my opinion a little bit useless - where is the other part for the strap? Right now the gun would hand around my back/front facing directly at the bottom - in case of danger i wouldn't be able to shoulder the gun fast enough. I would add another hole at the front part of the gun... maybe somewhere around the flashlight under the barrels? But enough of the critize - this is an amazing rifle. Look at it; so majestic... just incredible.

Keep up the good work - your creativity is remarkable.

Just needs more grip texture, sling, and get rid of the D-iron under the stock.

Love this piece.
Has a believable future weapon look and feel to it.
With the low spec/gloss level it looks like it might be marketed
to future law enforcement  or military.

Jak dáváš na ten čistej material ten text ? Ted mám model sci-fi pušky a chcu s ní udělat pěknej render, ale bohužel nevím jak udělat třeba uprostřed pruh a vedle třeba text apod. Poslední otázečka, jestli to nevadí, ty používáš na osvícení plane v-ray světla že ? máš jich tam víc a s kajým nastavením ? :D Díky za odpověd

ked chces texturovat tak sa musis naucit uvw unwrap. ja pouzivat plane vray ale ziadne specialne nastavenia. len default. na spravne nasvietenie musis renderovat najprv clay render a n pri nom nastavit spravne intensity svetiel. az ked je to ok tak potom to renderujes s nastavenymi materialmy. inak sa to tazko trafis....
