Description

Concept of futuristic energy gun for fictional sci-fi scenario.

Recently I uploaded one model - Pulsar (Pulsar - main). Jumper is meant to be series with it. Design both of them is done in unusual way and in very minimalist style. They are simple with no extra parts all over surface. Surface itself has plain silhouette and coloring is shine.  Main reason to do this model  has been grip. I wanted to play more with design of this part to better follow main curves. It is held like saw off stotgun (Here I took inspiration)  by 2 hands.

Once person takes it into hand, gun automatically connects to person's computer. If authorisation procedure succeed then gun's system links to person HUD and activates 3d hologram projection (through emitters on the surface) all over the body displaying all controls, sights, switches, battery and other information. There is only one mechanical switch on the body - power button.

I did job in 3ds max and rendering engine is V-ray. Model is highpoly.

There are 2 bigger pictures:

Hello Peterku

Great job as usual. Clean lines, great lighting, excellent modeling. If you are not working for a major game or film house, you should be.

My only criticism is the circular object in the middle of the gun. Not sure what it is or what its doing there. It breaks the clean lines of the gun. I would say remove it entirely or recess it within the gun and place a transparent cover over it. The black outer handle could use the same texture as the black inner handle just to give it more life.

But this is nitpicking. This is a great example of 3d modeling. Again great job overall.
